Install OBS Studio

OBS is free and open source. No account, no watermark, no trial.

  1. Download the installer from the official site, obsproject.com ↗, or install it with one command:

    Windows
    winget install --id OBSProject.OBSStudio -e
  2. The installer is about 152MB. Windows will usually ask for permission to make changes: click Yes. On a Mac or Linux, download your version from the same page.

TipNo admin rights on your PC? Download OBS-Studio-32.2.2-Windows-x64.zip (179MB) from the official GitHub releases page ↗ instead, unzip it and run bin\64bit\obs64.exe. It unpacks to about 470MB and needs no installing.
  3. Open OBS Studio from the Start menu. The first time, a window called Auto-Configuration Wizard pops up straight away. Leave it open for the next step.
