A free, open-source coding assistant for VS Code and JetBrains: chat about your code, edit it with an instruction, and get autocomplete, using AI models on your own machine.
What you can do with it
- Explain code you didn't write
- Rewrite or fix a selected function with one instruction
- Copilot-style autocomplete that works offline
Worth knowingWith small local models it is slower and makes more mistakes than paid cloud assistants: on our 16GB laptop a chat answer took 20-35 seconds, and one answer confidently reported a bug that wasn't there. Its anonymous usage stats are on by default unless you turn telemetry off in VS Code.
