Pandoc
Converts documents between dozens of formats, so one plain text file becomes a branded Word document, a PDF, a web page or an ebook in a fraction of a second.
What you can do with it
- Client proposals and reports in Word and PDF from one text file, in your own branding
- Turn a folder of Word files into clean text for editing or AI
- Short ebooks with a cover from a few chapter files
Worth knowingIt's a command-line tool with no window to click around in. PDFs need a separate PDF engine (we used Typst), and Word files coming back into text lose their fonts and colours, and lose headings that were only made bold by hand.
