Scoop
A free command-line installer for Windows that installs, updates and removes thousands of apps in your own user folder, with no admin password and no setup wizards.
What you can do with it
- Install apps on a PC where you can't approve admin prompts
- Update every app you use with one command
- Set up a new PC from a saved list of your apps
Worth knowingApps it installs don't appear in Settings > Apps, a few (like Git and uv) set user environment variables, and it isn't for software that needs drivers or system services. Uninstall your apps before running 'scoop uninstall scoop': in our test of v0.6.0 the one-shot full uninstall failed with 'Access is denied'.
