VHS
Write a short script of what to type, and VHS films it in a hidden terminal and saves a GIF, MP4 or WebM, so demos are re-rendered instead of re-recorded.
What you can do with it
- Demo GIFs for GitHub READMEs and docs
- Vertical 1080x1920 terminal clips for Reels, Shorts and TikTok
- Still PNG screenshots of a terminal for tutorials and thumbnails
Worth knowingNeeds two extra free programs (ttyd and FFmpeg) plus Chrome or Edge. On Windows the example tape from `vhs new` fails until you switch it to PowerShell, and `vhs record` only prints 'unsupported', so tapes are written by hand.
